DOOR TO DOOR COURIER
Many top courier companies such as FedEx, TNT, and Aerospeed Couriers offer a door to door courier service. The client phones the courier business and requests a collection for door to door courier service. The courier organization sends a vehicle to the street address at which the consignment is situated and collects it. It is subsequently returned to the localized company hub. At the hub each delivery is classified and placed in an area dedicated to a specific delivery city, town or nation. Once sorted, for regular overnight door to door services, the day’s collections stay in the hub until a set cut-off time. By the cut off time a vehicle takes all the days collections for door to door courier and delivers it to their agent at the town or city airport. At the air port the overall consignment for every desired destination is packed onto a flight bound for the particular destination. During the night the cargo for door to door courier arrives at the ascertained desired destination air port. At the destination air-port the courier company’s representative hands the consignments over to the vehicle driver of a truck that takes the door to door courier consignments to the courier company’s localized hub. At the local hub the letters, documents and packages are categorized into street address destinations of about thirty for each door to door operater. The motorists for each delivery run then deliver every consignment to every recipient, usually by ten thirty in the morning. Delivery by ten thirty in the morning hours is the usual average door to door courier service. However, a next day door to door courier service is actually usually only possible to principal centres with an airport. If the door to door courier service is bound for a small hub it is then driven to that smaller centre that day and is either delivered door to door later in the day or perhaps in the case of more remote destinations, the following day. In the case of door to door courier distribution of international consignments, the same applies, if the delivery street address is close to a main international airport, but delivery is sometimes later in the day or early the next day. Most door to door courier deliveries to international addresses within cities with a major air port will be delivered door to door inside 48-72 hours anywhere in the planet. This particular 48-72 hours door to door courier delivery service is only feasible, provided consignments are not held up in customs, over which the courier business has no controls.
